Make
sure you use HTML, HEAD and BODY Tags properly.
Invalid HTML coding can certainly cause ranking
problems. Once you have finished your website
run an HTML
Validation program, a free service that
checks Web documents in formats like HTML and
XHTML for conformance to W3C Recommendations and
other standards and will assist you identifying
html errors.
In
general search engines have a hard time indexing
websites using Frames,
Flash, Dynamic
URLs or Image Maps.
Search engines can't handle frames very well,
some engines can't get through to the content
of the website when frames are being used.
The
same applies to Dynamic URLs. Most search engines
cannot or will not list any dynamic URLs. Dynamic
URLs are pages pulled from a database and are
created when requested. A dynamic page looks like
this: http://www.agnitionetworks.com/results.asp?q=dynamic+url.
If your website
Search
engines also can't index pages made entirely out
of Flash and can't spider hyperlinks made of flash
either.
If
your site uses Frames, Flash, Javascript, Image
Maps, or Dynamic URLs, it will be more difficult
for the search engines to list your web pages
no matter how well you optimize and submit them
and you will have to put in quite a bit of work
to work around those problems. If you can try
to avoide those things when building your website.
